Before we met, I was still carrying some baby weight with me. Not a whole lot, just a few pounds, but I wasn’t feeling great about myself because I didn’t have the freedom to workout like I used to or go to the gym when I wanted to go because my child was always with me.

I used to be pretty active before I had a baby and played a ton of volleyball. So I missed and Grieved my old active self. I  tried working out at the local YMCA but it was hard to push myself and stay motivated. I know I wanted to join a group somewhere but didn’t know how to get plugged in. 

I actually feel mentally and physically stronger now than ever before, even though I’m older and I have 2 kids because you have challenged me week by week. That’s why I attend your workouts religiously because it gives me the energy that I need to be healthy and be a strong mama!

Melissa has inspired me in so many ways! When I started working out with her, it had been years since I had challenged myself, fitness-wise.

She modified my workouts, listened to what my physical constraints were, understood and worked with me on scheduling needs.

I have been working with Melissa for just over a year now.  Prior to working with Melissa, I was at an all time high with my weight.  I had allowed for work and life to simply take over.  I had lost track of what had always been so important to me…my health.  I met Melissa and instantly felt comfortable to share my current weight struggles with her.  She instantly had me back on track!  It has taken much hard work on my end…but her constant encouragement has kept me driving forward!  Today I weigh 30lbs less and have lost countless inches.  I wake every day with a desire to live my best and most fit life.  Thank you Melissa, for your support and constant encouragement.

Within the first 3 months of working with Melissa for nutrition and exercise guidance I have steadily lost 20lbs and counting. I feel and look better, I am sleeping better as well. This was all done through eating healthy and exercise.

Melissa makes it so easy, I told her what my goals are and she supplies me with an approved food list, how much to eat and when. She also gives me good recipe and snack ideas, as well as, giving me an exercise plan. It couldn't be any easier!

She also checks in to make sure I am on track and when I fall off track, she is right there to cheer me on to continue. It has paid off. My cravings for bad food have subsided... I am actually WANTING to make healthy choices now.

And I tell you-the feeling of being able to go to the store and try on cute clothes that actually look good is PRICELESS! I highly recommend Melissa, I couldn't do it on my own (and I tried many times).

I’m an elementary school teacher, mom of two teenage boys, and like everyone, I felt like things were spinning out of control last year. I turned 50 during the quarantine and the best thing I did for myself was working with Melissa to focus on what I can control..food and exercise. I’m absolutely convinced that taking control of what I put into my body and regularly exercising with weights and cardio is what has kept everything else manageable during an insane year when nothing felt under control. I’m happier, calmer, better rested, and stronger than I’ve been in years despite all the challenges of this year. I’ve lost 15 pounds and all my metrics (blood pressure, resting heart rate, sleep quality) have improved steadily over the past few months.

Melissa helped me develop a healthier lifestyle that was easy to implement. I now plan/shop/prep my food on the weekends so that even after long days at work with starving teenage sons coming home from sports, I can still pull off a healthy dinner at home in almost no time. I honestly don’t miss the salty/sweet snacks that never left me satisfied and I used to eat without thinking; and I’m still able to enjoy a glass of wine or a special meal when I want. Melissa worked with me on big things like portion control, carb/protein balance, and the timing of meals and nutritious snacks. She also helped me with little tricks, like finding nutrition that I could eat/drink with a mask on at school or how to approach adding vegetables into every meal. I think this shift in eating healthier and taking better care of myself has benefitted everyone in my family, and I’m so grateful for Melissa’s help!

Hi, my name is Amy Haugen. My husband, Nic, and I have a 1.5yr old son, Hudson, and are expecting our second baby in June. I have always been very active and have a long list of hobbies ranging from 3-Day Eventing (equestrian discipline), cycling, running and pretty much anything else that gets me outside!

While we live a healthy and active lifestyle and I haven’t had terribly difficult pregnancies from a physical standpoint, I do struggle mentally. I really dislike not feeling like myself (or being in control of what’s happening to my body), being limited physically, or told that I can’t do certain things. My horse has been sidelined due to an injury, so I’ve also missed my greatest source of physical and mental exercise over the last 6 months. I reached out to Melissa early on in my pregnancy with the goal of finding a consistent workout program that was safe, wouldn’t jeopardize my long-term goals (I want those abs to come back together someday),would keep me moving consistently, and more than anything, hold me accountable!

Melissa has created unique workouts for me each week with modifications and changes as I progress through my pregnancy to keep it safe, while also ensuring I get a really good workout. Getting Melissa’s help is the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long time. While I’m not shedding pounds right now, I feel stronger, have more energy and am so much happier; an hour of sweating each day really does wonders for my mind!

"I wanted to improve my fitness and overall health. After having kids, I struggled to lose my pregnancy weight and the reintroduction to American food didn't help.

I met Melissa and knew it was a great fit! She knew my sporting background and understood that I could be pushed. I enjoy the workouts with the garage squad as they are always changing, and we all encourage each other, and it is such a nice group of ladies who I know call my friends. I did a 30-day clean eating and cleanse with her and the weight just melted off.

Being mindful of what I was putting into my body made a huge difference. I look back and think of all the mindless eating I would do. The encouragement and guidance from Melissa were so professional yet personal.
